Red phosphorus (Red phosphorus ), also known as red phosphorus, is a purple-red amorphous powder, shiny and non-toxic. It starts to melt when it is heated to 590°C under high pressure. If it is not pressurized, it will not melt and sublimate, and then condense after vaporization to obtain white phosphorus. It reacts with nitric acid to generate phosphoric acid, and is heated in chlorine gas to generate chloride. Yellow phosphorus is heated to 250°C for several days in a vacuum under normal pressure, and it is gradually converted into red phosphorus. Red phosphorus can be used in the semiconductor industry as a diffusion source, in organic synthesis and in the manufacture of matches, as well as in insecticides, rodenticides, fireworks and smoke bombs.

Storage Precautions

Store in a cool and ventilated warehouse, far away from fire and heat source, storage temperature not exceeding 32°C, relative humidity not exceeding 80%, should be stored separately from oxidants, halogens, halides, etc., avoid mixed storage, use explosion-proof lighting and ventilation facilities, prohibit the use of mechanical equipment and tools that are prone to sparks, and the storage area should be equipped with suitable materials to contain leakage, and vibration, impact and friction are prohibited.
